Leo is 8-2 against Garrett since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Lions will look to defend their home field against the Railroaders at 10:00 a.m. Leo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
While Leo's win against Bellmont wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lions sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Braves on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lions have posted since April 16th.

Landon Slattery spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Leo saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kellan Hulburt, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Central Noble hit Garrett with a seven-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Railroaders took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars. Railroaders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Cougars since on Friday.
Keagan Jobe was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Jobe was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that he has hit this season.
Leo pushed their record up to 14-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Garrett, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
Garrett's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Leo has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. It's a different story for Garrett, though, as they've only averaged .346. Will they be able to contain Leo's hitters?
Leo skirted past Garrett 9-8 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Railroaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
