The Mills Vikings can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They secured a 42-36 W over Capuchino. This was payback for Mills, who suffered a 49-46 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Tanay Rai was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 15 points. Tyler Ngo was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
When it comes to explaining why Capuchino lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dominic Vanden Berghe. Despite the final result, he scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Vanden Berghe continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Cruz, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Mills' win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Capuchino, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mills will challenge Westmoor at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Westmoor is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. Capuchino's road trip will continue as they head out to face Aragon at 1:30 p.m. on January 20th.
