The Tri County Northeast Wolfpack lost to the Omaha Nation Chiefs back in February of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. Tri County Northeast managed a 38-33 win over Omaha Nation.
Tri County Northeast's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hunter Heikes led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 20 rebounds. Heikes is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last five games he's played. Jackson Belt was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
Tri County Northeast's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10. As for Omaha Nation, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-14.
Tri County Northeast will head out on the road to face off against Stanton on Friday. Tri County Northeast is facing Stanton at the right time seeing as Stanton is stuck on a six-game losing streak. Omaha Nation does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
