Sharpstown has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Milby Buffs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Saturday, Sharpstown came up short against the Mustangs and fell 53-42. Sharpstown has not had much luck with the Mustangs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Milby earned a 51-41 victory over the Yellowjackets on Friday. The win was just what Milby needed coming off of a 81-39 loss in their prior matchup.
Milby's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Daniel Cantu, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds, and Jacob Carrizalez, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kobe Brown, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Sharpstown has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-23 record this season. As for Milby, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-18.
Sharpstown took their win against the Buffs when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 51-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sharpstown since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
