Charles J. Colgan is a perfect 10-0 against Gar-Field since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Sharks will look to defend their home field against the Red Wolves at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Charles J. Colgan has ten straight victories, Gar-Field has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Charles J. Colgan barely beat John Champe the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Sharks' pitchers stepped up to hand the Knights an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. The Sharks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by nine runs or more this season.

Dorsey Grose made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in runs (two).
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cate Jurack, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Kayli Lamboy was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Charles J. Colgan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as John Champe only posted an OBP of .118.
Meanwhile, Gar-Field fell victim to Forest Park and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 25-0 to the Bruins.
Gar-Field saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ariana Biddle, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.
Charles J. Colgan's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Gar-Field, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.
Gar-Field's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Charles J. Colgan has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.5 hits per game. It's a different story for Gar-Field, though, as they've been averaging 9.9 hits. Given Charles J. Colgan's sizable advantage in that area, the Red Wolves will need to find a way to close that gap.
Charles J. Colgan took their win against Gar-Field in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 26-0 score. Do the Sharks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
