Immanuel is 0-10 against Central Valley Christian since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Immanuel Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Central Valley Christian Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. Immanuel's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Even though Immanuel has not done well against Hanford West recently (they were 0-7-1 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Immanuel had just enough and edged Hanford West out 3-2.
Immanuel was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Talen Case and
Seth Hutchinson, who scored all three of Immanuel's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 13 so far this season.
Meanwhile, Central Valley Christian and Kingsburg combined for seven shots on goal on Tuesday, which explains the impressive eight total goals scored. Both teams finished up on equal footing with a 4-4 draw. The final score was a far cry from the score of their previous head-to-head, which saw the teams combine for two goals.
The win got Immanuel back to even at 10-10-3. Central Valley Christian's draw makes their record 7-8-4 on the season.
Immanuel suffered a grim 6-1 defeat to Central Valley Christian in their previous matchup back in January. Can Immanuel avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
