The Woodson Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 81-37 defeat at the hands of Cardozo. Woodson was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 61-31.
Cardozo's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nasir Slater, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Slater pulled down eight or more rebounds. Cameron Young was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with four steals.
Woodson's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Cardozo, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Woodson will challenge Ron Brown at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in District of Columbia (Ron Brown is ranked 30th, while Woodson is ranked 29th). Cardozo will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Bell at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. Bell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
