Hughes added to the longest winning streak in AAAAAA Region 3 this week by beating Newnan, 30-3. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Hughes was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating the Cougars. Willie Cannon's team came in at 20 in the state poll after placing at number 32 last week.
The Panthers' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Kinan Humphrey threw for 179 and 2 touchdowns and Kenny Moxey had 95 yards receiving. On the ground Keion Davis contributed 139 yards. Jocques Ross helped Hughes' passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 24 yards.

Douglas County's Jared Askew and Justin Bridges have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Askew has thrown for 1,086 yards this season, while Bridges has 21 catches for 345 yards. The Panthers' Davis leads the league in rushing yards with 986.
Davis of the Hughes is just 14 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Davis has rushed for 986 yards on 124 carries so far this year.
At the moment, the Panthers are in first, while the Indians are in fourth.
