Basketball Recap: Estero's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Estero won the last time they faced East Lee County, and Ashton Peterson did his part to make sure it happened again. The Estero Wildcats enjoyed a cozy 76-62 victory over the East Lee County Jaguars on Friday thanks in part to Peterson, who posted 34 points. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

Despite the loss, East Lee County still got an impressive performance from Gage Chin, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 boards. Chin continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Trujillo, who had 12 points and eight rebounds.

Estero moved to 6-8 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for East Lee County, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Estero didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-34 loss against Riverdale on the 4th. As for East Lee County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 59-56 defeat against Stone Ridge Christian on the 4th.
