If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Edison. On Friday they take on East Brunswick at 7:00 PM. Edison will be looking to avenge the 12-35 loss they took the last time these two teams played.
Edison were the first on the board but had to settle for second at the end of their match against Sayreville last Friday. Edison and Sayreville were almost perfectly matched up, but Edison suffered an agonizing 12-13 defeat. Edison's defeat came about despite a quality game from junior Lucas Loffredo, who passed for 141 yards and 2 touchdowns. Loffredo has been a consistent playmaker for Edison as this was the 3rd good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for East Brunswick, and their contest last Friday only extended their streak of losses to five. They came up short against South Brunswick, falling 14-27.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. East Brunswick's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Edison defensive front that amassed four sacks against Sayreville, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
