Despite the loss, Byrd got top-tier performance from Christian Maxie, who rushed for 150 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries, and also picked up 30 receiving yards. Maxie really tore up the turf during one magnificent 79-yard run. Trenton Henderson helped out on the ground, rushing for 83 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last four matchups, Benton finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 59-0 loss at the hands of Evangel Christian Academy. The game marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.
