For Rio Rico, this counts as revenge for the 42-36 loss Sahuarita walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Rio Rico's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Angelina Whelan, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. Whelan hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. Debanny Cota was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven assists and two steals.
Rio Rico is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. As for Sahuarita, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-8.
Rio Rico the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Mica Mountain at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. Mica Mountain is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Sahuarita, they will face off against Walden Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Walden Grove comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
