Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Myers Park). They took down the Charlotte Catholic Cougars 47-29 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Mustangs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Myers Park to victory were Amani Barner and Zofie Pope. Barner shot 50% from the field en route to 14 points and six rebounds, while Pope posted ten points. Arianna Shaw was another key player, putting up seven points.

Myers Park was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Charlotte Catholic only racked up five.

Charlotte Catholic's loss came despite strong showings from Megan Shea and Sophie Dumler. Shea put up 14 points and five boards, while Dumler earned eight points and three steals. Dumler is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

With the victory, Myers Park broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Charlotte Catholic, they now also have a losing record of 2-3.

Myers Park wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 42-25 defeat against Marvin Ridge on the 9th. Charlotte Catholic has also already played their next contest (against South Mecklenburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
