They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 15-0 walloping at the hands of the Ephrata Mountaineers on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cocalico in their matchups with Ephrata: they've now lost six in a row.
For Ephrata's part, not much got past Ellie Meier, who gave up just zero hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Cocalico off the board.
At the plate, Maddie Russell was incredible, going 3-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kylee Dunlap, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and a triple.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cocalico will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off.
