If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Black Hawk. They will take on Randolph at home at 7:00 PM on Friday. Black Hawk have bulldozed their previous five opponents, so Randolph might have their hands full.
Black Hawk might be getting used to good results now that the squad has eight wins in a row. They were the clear victor by a 32-2 margin over Shullsburg. Senior Kyle Lovelace was the offensive standout of the match for Black Hawk, as he picked up 57 yards on the ground and accumulated 166 passing yards. Lovelace has now scored at least one touchdown in the past seven games.
Meanwhile, if Randolph were riding high off their 53-8 takedown of Wayland Academy two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Randolph have to be aching after a bruising 0-31 defeat to Cambria-Friesland last Friday. Randolph's low-scoring loss was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the contest before.
Black Hawk's victory lifted them to 8-0 while Randolph's loss dropped them down to 4-5. Randolph's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Black Hawk defensive front that amassed six sacks against Shullsburg, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
