Schenevus Central extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping them up to 6-3. They put the hurt on the South Kortright Central Rams with a sharp 18-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Dragons, who have now won four games by 12 runs or more so far this season.
Sawyer Bridger was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bridger was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Tim Green and Owen Green did most of the damage at the plate: Tim went 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles, while Owen went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Owen has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Mike Competiello also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
As for South Kortright Central, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered since April 9, 2025.
On South Kortright Central's side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Dropp, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another was Evan Smith, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Schenevus Central will venture away from home to face off against Milford Central at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Kortright Central, they will welcome Morris Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
