The Vista Ridge Rangers will head out on the road to face off against the Cedar Ridge Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Vista Ridge nor Cedar Ridge posted many goals in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.
Last Friday, Vista Ridge suffered a rough 4-1 defeat at the hands of Round Rock. While losing is never fun, Vista Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Round Rock is ranked tenth).
Vista Ridge's goal came courtesy of
Lillian Vandiver, who's now up to 13 this season.
Meanwhile, Cedar Ridge kept a clean sheet against McNeil on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Mavericks out 1-0. The victory was just what Cedar Ridge needed coming off of a 6-0 defeat in their prior contest.
Vista Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3-3. As for Cedar Ridge, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9.
Vista Ridge beat Cedar Ridge 2-0 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vista Ridge since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
