SCISA 8-Man Region II (8 Man) recap September 24, 2013
King Academy added to the longest winning streak in SCISA 8-Man Region II (8 Man) this week by beating Andrew Jackson Academy, 44-28. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Knights.
Clarendon Hall led the league in scoring this week by notching 50 points on Richard Winn Academy.
Caleb Hinzman provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Greenwood Christian defeated Coastal Christian Prep.
Hinzman was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 216 yards on 10 carries as the Hawks bested Coastal Christian Prep. Teammate Jonathan Hegler added to the ground attack by rushing for 62 yards.
Hinzman was a force in the backfield as Greenwood Christian topped J.W. Myers' team.
King Academy's Wyatt McDonald and Caleb Fulmer have formed a dream team this season, leading SCISA 8-Man Region II (8 Man) in both passing and receiving yards. McDonald has thrown for 317 yards this season, while Fulmer, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 11 catches for 149 yards. Gary Gillion's team's Hinzman leads the league in rushing yards with 616.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Confederates and Wardlaw Academy. Andrew Jackson Academy comes into the matchup ranked 12th in the state, while the Patriots ranks first.
The league will see a high scoring game when the Hawks and Zach Matthews' team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Greenwood Christian comes in having scored 115 this season, while the Knights have scored 204. The Hawks scored 45 points last week as they beat Coastal Christian Prep.
Hinzman broke off the longest rushing play in the league this week with a 61-yard run against Coastal Christian Prep.
