The Foothill Falcons will take on the Mojave Rattlers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
Foothill is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nevada's top teams: Faith Lutheran, who was ranked 19th at the time (Foothill was ranked tenth). The Falcons fell 30-24 to the Crusaders on Friday. The Falcons gained 104 more yards on the day, but it was the Crusaders that made the best use of them.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ryder Dobbs, who rushed for 41 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 117 yards and one TD on only ten passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Foothill's success: the team is 5-2 when his passer rating is 110 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Tyce Mauro was another key receiver, picking up 103 receiving yards and one score.
Meanwhile, Mojave got the win against Palo Verde on Friday by a conclusive 34-10. The Rattlers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by 24 points or more this season.
Mojave's win came from a few key players Foothill will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was S'Marion Coleman, who picked up 113 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 97 yards and one touchdown. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 92 yards. Another back making a difference was Francisco Reinares, who rushed for 155 yards and one score on only eight carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mojave was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 348 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Mojave didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Elijah Richard and Demico Zamora. Mojave got some further help from Jray Vele: he made ten total tackles (5.0 for loss).
Mojave pushed their record up to 5-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.7 points on average over those games. As for Foothill, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-4 record.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Foothill has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 285.1 passing yards per game. It's a different story for Mojave, though, as they've been averaging only 137.3 passing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant passing game?
Foothill didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Mojave in their previous meeting back in August, but they still walked away with a 34-28 victory. Will the Falcons repeat their success, or do the Rattlers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
