Watersprings lost against the Challis Vikings back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The game between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Watersprings falling 43-24. They have struggled against Challis recently, as their contest on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Defeat or not, Watersprings got some senior leadership from Kaitlyn Syverson and Libby Grijalva. Syverson scored nine points along with ten rebounds and three steals, while Grijalva. scored seven points along with six rebounds and three blocks. That was a full 37.5% of Watersprings' points, marking the tenth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Watersprings' loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Challis, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Watersprings will play host again and welcome Grace Lutheran, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Grace Lutheran's defense has only allowed 23.8 points per game this season, so Watersprings' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Challis, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Butte County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Butte County has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
