Columbus earned some more postseason success in their game on Friday. They blew past Hallettsville 48-25. Hallettsville can consider this payback for the 28-26 loss they dealt Columbus the last time the teams encountered one another September.
The matchup started off well for the Cardinals, whose offense put up 27 first-half points. Hallettsville countered with 7 points, leaving the score at 27-7 going into the half. The offense for Columbus continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 21 points to put the game away.
The victory (their ninth in a row) raised Columbus' record to 12-2. The defeat dropped Hallettsville's record to 11-3.
Columbus will face off against Grandview in a playoff contest next week. Hallettsville's playoff loss brings an end to their season.
