The Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) Stallions waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They had just enough and edged Key West out 58-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Key West still got an impressive performance from Tramane Scott, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kameron Roberts, who scored 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) pushed their record up to 11-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points per game. As for Key West, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somerset Academy (Silver Palms) will face off against Mater Academy Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Key West on the road again on Monday and play against iMater Charter at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (iMater Charter is ranked 457th, while Key West is ranked 458th).
