The Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Upsala Cardinals at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City will be strutting in after a victory while Upsala will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City has not done well against Central Minnesota Christian recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City escaped with a win against Central Minnesota Christian by the margin of a single free throw, 47-46.
Meanwhile, Upsala had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell to Brandon/Evansville 66-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Dakota Soltis, who scored 21 points. Another player making a difference was Samantha Pilarski, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Upsala, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City beat Upsala 46-38 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
