The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cornerstone Prep Academy in their matchups with Cherokee Christian: they've now lost four in a row.
Cornerstone Prep Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Simeon Greene, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Greene is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ben Cobb, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds.
Cornerstone Prep Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Cherokee Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Prep Academy will face off against Johnson Ferry Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cherokee Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge The King's Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
