Baseball Game Preview: Jordan-Elbridge Eagles vs. Skaneateles Lakers

Jordan-Elbridge is 1-9 against Skaneateles since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lakers at 4:30 p.m. Jordan-Elbridge knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Skaneateles likes a good challenge.

Jordan-Elbridge barely beat Hannibal the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Nolan Brunelle was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Brunelle is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Gage Davey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

Jordan-Elbridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Skaneateles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 12-2 to Westhill.

Sean Olley was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Jordan-Elbridge's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Skaneateles, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Skaneateles' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jordan-Elbridge has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .452. It's a different story for Skaneateles, though, as they've only averaged .360. Will they be able to contain Jordan-Elbridge's hitters?

Jordan-Elbridge suffered a grim 12-6 defeat to Skaneateles when the teams last played back in May of 2019. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
