North Central AA recap October 1, 2013
Southeast of Saline scaled the state rankings by moving to 78 from 112 this week, the biggest jump in North Central AA. The Trojans were able to move up by besting Minneapolis 61-14.
Southeast of Saline added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Lions, 61-14. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
The Trojans' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Cody Schlesener threw for 123 yards and Keith Short had 53 yards receiving. On the ground Short contributed 209 yards.
Nick Wuthnow was a passing and rushing force as Sacred Heart fell to Beloit. He completed 6 passes for 93 yards and also ran for 180 yards. Wuthnow's key target this week was Kane Comfort, who caught 2 passes for 30 yards.
Schlesener put up the best numbers in passing as Southeast of Saline defeated Minneapolis. Schlesener's favorite target this week was Short, who caught 2 passes for 53 yards.
Southeast of Saline's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Schlesener has thrown for 548 yards and 9 touchdowns this season, while Matthew Helvey has 10 catches for 236 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Ellsworth takes on the Trojans. As it stands, the Bearcats are in fourth, while Beloit is in second.
The Trojans took down Jeff Giles' team 61-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Short ran for 209 yards in the win.
