The North Brunswick Scorpions will head out on the road to challenge the White Oak Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Brunswick has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
North Brunswick took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-13 win over East Columbus. The Scorpions' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Jamya Hansley was a standout: she scored four runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs. Zoey Matthews was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Hansley wasn't the only one working in the hit department: North Brunswick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, White Oak hadn't done well against Jacksonville recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. White Oak had just enough and edged out Jacksonville 7-6.
Alyssa Carkhuff made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single earned run, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Gracie Tompkins was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-3. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season.
North Brunswick's record now sits at 3-1. As for White Oak, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. North Brunswick has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like White Oak struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
