Crater is 3-0 against South Eugene since September of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Crater Comets will head out on the road to face off against the South Eugene Axe at 7:00 p.m. Crater will be strutting in after a win while South Eugene will be coming in after a loss.
Last Friday, Crater had just enough and edged Churchill out 26-24.
Valentin Rodriguez had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns. Ben Higginson and his 80 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Crater's victory.
Meanwhile, South Eugene's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. Their rough 41-20 loss to Eagle Point might stick with them for a while.
Crater has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 3-5 record this season. As for South Eugene, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6.
Everything came up roses for Crater against South Eugene in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 54-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Crater since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
