After flying high against the Central Valley Falcons last Friday, the Anderson Cubs came back down to earth. Anderson was outmatched by University Prep on the road and fell 62-35. Anderson has struggled against University Prep recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
University Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Trey Pringle out in front who scored 14 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Baron Grooms, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Anderson has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for University Prep, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-8.
Anderson on the road again on Friday and play against Lassen at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Lassen will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive. University Prep will take on Yreka at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Yreka will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 832nd, while University Prep is ranked 391st).
