If The Highland Trojans were riding high off their 56-6 takedown of the East Chicago Central Cardinals last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Highland took a serious blow against Culver Academies on Friday, falling 46-13. Highland was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-7.
Despite the loss, Highland still got an impressive performance from Blake Vanek, who rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries, and also threw for 54 yards and a touchdown.
Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Culver Academies, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Highland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Culver Academies will be playing in front of their home fans against New Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. New Prairie is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
