Softball Recap: Calvert Now 5-1 over Last Six Games

Calvert barely beat North Point the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cavaliers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Eagles a 9-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Cavaliers, who have now won six matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Calvert has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for North Point, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Calvert is set to challenge their familiar foe Thomas Stone on Wednesday. Meanwhile, North Point will face off against rival Great Mills at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
