It was a good run, but the DSST: Cedar Falcons unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to DSST: Green Valley Ranch at home by a decisive 61-43 margin. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for DSST: Cedar in their matchups with DSST: Green Valley Ranch: they've now lost four in a row.
DSST: Cedar's loss came despite strong showings from Matthew Stophel and Simon Alexander. Stophel dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Alexander scored ten points along with two blocks.
DSST: Green Valley Ranch had a senior duo take command as Jovonnie Babineaux scored 19 points along with four steals and Shalom Abioye dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Leul Michael, who scored six points.
DSST: Cedar now has a losing record at 6-7. As for DSST: Green Valley Ranch, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DSST: Cedar will take on Stargate School at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Stargate School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Thursday. As for DSST: Green Valley Ranch, they will be playing at home against Manual at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manual has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 750 points over their last ten contests.
