Basketball Recap: Mackenzie Sweeney Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Brecksville-Broadview Heights

Twinsburg won the last time they faced Brecksville-Broadview Heights and things went their way on Saturday too. The Twinsburg Tigers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Bees, sneaking past 50-48.

Twinsburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Mackenzie Sweeney out in front who posted 11 points. Sweeney is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kayla Cellura, who earned 15 points.

Several Bees players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jessie Zenir, who went 5 for 8 en route to 14 points and eight rebounds. Ashley Perdion was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

Twinsburg's record is now 11-5. As for Brecksville-Broadview Heights, their record now sits at 13-4.

Twinsburg and Brecksville-Broadview Heights should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. Twinsburg will square off against Stow-Munroe Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday up 121 places (111 vs. 232). Meanwhile, Brecksville-Broadview Heights (ranked 37th) will meet Nordonia (ranked 381st) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
