Rachel Garcia, who was named California's Gatorade State Player of the Year, terrorized batters as well as pitchers for Highland (Palmdale). She has been named the MaxPreps California Medium School Player of the Year.
The sophomore lost just twice in 24 games and struck out 302 batters in 139 innings and finished with a 0.50 ERA. She pitched 14 shutouts and allowed only 42 base hits. She pitched a dozen one-hitters and four no-hitters. She struck out nine or more batters in every game she pitched.
Garcia, who has committed to UCLA, also posted a 1.480 slugging percentage as she batted .709 with 13 home runs and drove in 44 runs.

P - Rachel Garcia, Highland (Palmdale), SophomoreGarcia posted a 22-2 record in the circle with a 0.50 ERA this past season, leading the Bulldogs (22-2) to the Southern Section D-3 tournament. She struck out 302 batters in 139 innings pitched, allowing 42 hits and 24 walks with 14 shutouts and four no-hitters. Garcia batted .709 with 13 home runs, 12 doubles, 42 RBIs and a 1.380 slugging percentage. She produced more extra-base hits (26) than outs (23) on the year. She has committed to UCLA.

CIF Southern Section D-4 Player of the Year, was 25-3 for the 28-5
Bulldogs. She struck out 256 with a 0.81 ERA in 173 innings. Gandera
pitched six no-hitters. She also batted .477 with 49 RBIs and 13 home
runs. She has signed with Charleston.
P - Allie Walljasper, Sierra (Manteca), JuniorShe was 18-2 during the regular season — her only losses coming to city rival East Union and playoff qualifier Oakdale — with a 0.47 ERA. Opponents batted .088 against her. In 120 innings, she struck out 227 and walked just 24. She batted .482 with 20 RBIs, a .557 on-base percentage, an .815 slugging percentage. Has committed to LSU.
P - Caitlyn Brooks, Burbank, SophomoreThe Notre Dame commit was 25-3 with a 0.78 ERA and 309 strikeouts in 170 innings. She also hit .526 with 12 home runs, 42 runs and 35 RBIs to earn Pacific League MVP and D-3 first team honors.
P - Delanie Gourley, El Capitan (Lakeside), SeniorGourley repeated as the East County Pitcher of the Year. The reigning CIF San Diego Section all-division player of the year as a junior, Gourley completed her senior season with a career-high 350 strikeouts to give the left-hander a total of 1,352 strikeouts. She has signed with Florida.
P - Ashley Bottomley, Terra Linda (San Rafael), FreshmanLed TLHS to the North Coast Section D-3 title game. She posted a 23-4 record in 159 innings with 212 strikeouts and a 0.92 ERA. She also batted .322 with 20 RBIs.
P - Brittany Hitchcock, Ocean View (Huntington Beach), SeniorWith a 19-4 record, Hitchcock led the Seahawks to a 21-6 season. She posted a 0.59 ERA, and had 176 strikeouts in 142 innings. She also batted .386 with 20 RBIs. She has signed with Hawaii.
P - Zoe Conley, Salesian (Richmond), JuniorConley led Salesian to the North Coast D-3 title, allowing only one earned run in the postseason. She batted .433 and scored 37 runs and walked 21 times. In the circle, she was 19-2 with a 0.43 ERA and in 129 innings allowed only 42 hits and had 246 strikeouts. She has committed to Cal State Northridge.

0.74 ERA. She walked 18 times. Allowed only 58 hits. She pitched seven
no-hitters and five one-hitters.

led the Sultans to the D-3 SD Section title with her bat and her arm.
She batted .510, drove in 57 runs, scored 28 runs and was 20-2, with a
0.89 ERA, in 148 innings. She has signed with McNeese State.
C - Alexis Gonzalez, Bishop Amat (La Puente), SeniorGonzalez helped the Lancers win back-to-back Del Rey League championships and was named the Tribune Softball Player of the Year. Gonzalez hit .532 with six home runs and 34 RBIs this season. She also had 19 extra base hits. She has signed with Oregon State.
C - Alyssa Ross, Terra Linda (San Rafael), SeniorRoss compiled one of the top seasons ever by a Marin County softball player with a 1.260 slugging percentage and 57 RBIs. She batted .558 and earned the MCAL Player of the Year title and also was named the Marin Independent Journal's Softball Player of the Year. She signed with Notre de Namur University.
C - Jenavee Peres, Garden Grove, JuniorHer league's top player, Peres drove in 37 runs in 24 games and batted .507 with 10 doubles and seven home runs. She stole 15 bases in as many attempts and has committed to San Diego State.
1B - Mia Camuso, Shasta (Redding), FreshmanOnly a freshman, she was the top hitter on a 20-win team with a .620 average and 57 hits, 28 RBIs, 51 runs, and .696 OBP. She had 25 extra base hits. Camuso has committed to Oregon.
1B - Jackie Buechler, Parker (San Diego), SeniorA dual threat, Buechler batted .603 with 23 extra bases and 45 RBIs and pitched her way to a 20-4 record with 0.85 ERA in 149 innings with 143 strikeouts. Named to the San Diego Union All-Area team, Buechler has signed with Amherst.
IF - Taylor Van Zee, Hemet, JuniorIn leading the Bulldogs to the CIF Southern Section D-4 championship, Van Zee hit .700 with 70 hits, 14 home runs, 23 doubles, four triples, 54 RBIs, and 59 runs scored. She had a 1.430 slugging percentage, and struck out twice while walking 19 times. She was 8-for-8 on steal attempts, and had only two errors at shortstop. She will play for Washington.
IF - M.J. Knighten, Sunny Hills (Fullerton), SeniorKnighten, who has signed with Nebraska, helped the Freeway League co-champions reach the CIF-SS D-3 final for the first time since 1987. She hit .478 with 12 doubles, nine homers, 42 runs and 30 RBIs. The Freeway League MVP was Sunny Hills' athlete of the year.
IF - Zoe Marrott, Campolindo (Moraga), FreshmanMarrott had 10 hits in her final six games as the Cougars won the CIF North Coast D-3 title. She finished the year with a .484 average and 23 RBIs and was named Cal-Hi's Freshman of the Year. She has committed to Arizona State.
IF - Molly Bourne, La Serna (Whittier), Junior

Bourne batted .460, hit four home runs, drove in 37 and had nine doubles. For helping her team to a share of the Del Rio League title and a trip to the D-3 semifinals, Bourne was named the Whittier Daily News Player of the Year.
IF - Monique Landini, Bellarmine-Jefferson (Burbank), SeniorLandini batted .410 (41 base hits) for the Guards. In addition, she drove in 25 runs, scored 31 runs and had six doubles, seven triples, four home runs and a .730 slugging percentage. She was named the CIF Southern Section D-4 MVP. She has signed with St. John's.
IF - Rebekah Cervantes, Redwood (Visalia), SophomoreThe All-West Yosemite League shortstop was second in section with 53 RBIs as the Rangers won 25 games. She led Redwood to a Central Section D-3 runner-up finish by hitting .548 with 23 doubles, four triples, five homers, nine steals and 40 runs.
IF - Rochelle Roberts, Vanden (Fairfield), SeniorRoberts batted .565, with 35 runs, 52 hits, and 36 RBIs. She also was 21-7, with 215 strikeouts in 168 innings pitched with a 0.96 ERA.
IF - Mimi Williams, Pleasant Valley (Chico), JuniorWilliams recorded 61 hits, drove in 34 runs and scored 54 times en route to .484 average as PVHS won section title.
IF - Frankie Perales, Willow Glen (San Jose), JuniorPerales was named the BVAL's Player of the Year after hitting .689 with 21 RBIs. She has committed to UC-San Diego.
OF - Stacy Cavazos, Patriot (Riverside), SeniorCavazos, who is Santa Barbara bound, batted .518, had 59 RBIs, 46 hits, 50 runs, 15 home runs, and a 1.169 slugging pct. She was Sunkist League MVP.
OF - Taylor Glover, Mira Costa (Manhattan Beach), SeniorNamed All-CIF Southern Section, Glover had a .570 batting average, 49 hits, 25 RBIs, 50 runs, and was 33-for-33 on stolen bases. She has signed with Cal State Northridge.
OF - Dominique Jackson, Pleasant Valley (Chico), SophomoreJackson led the Northern Section with 10 triples, 12 homers, 69 RBIs and a 1.051 slugging pct. She hit homers in three straight games and had three triples in one game — a state record. Jackson batted .521 and led PVHS to the CIF North Section title.
OF - Hannah Cookson, Crescenta Valley (La Crescenta), JuniorCookson's offensive numbers were impressive — .435 BA, 34 RBIs, 37 hits, and 31 runs, as CVHS made the playoffs. She has committed to Long Beach State.
UTIL - Katie Chenault, Righetti (Santa Maria), SeniorNamed the Southern Section's D-3 Player of Year, Chenault won 25 games and struck out 294 in 182 innings with a 1.11 ERA. She also batted .360 with 27 RBIs. She has signed with Eastern Arizona College.
Util - Alex Silva, Shasta (Redding), SeniorRecorded 16 wins with a 1.77 ERA and 245 strikeouts in 162 innings and also drove in 48 runs with .469 average and 22 extra base hits. She has signed with Biola.
