The Charlestown Pirates are taking a road trip to face off against the Lanesville Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Charlestown is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
While Charlestown's win against Salem wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Pirates had just enough and edged out the Lions 2-1. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Hannah Burns spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Aiden Stewart was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Ella Shaw was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Lanesville beat Eastern 6-3 on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Aubrianna Hoten and Makenna Mills made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Hoten pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Mills didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. At bat, Hoten went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI, while Mills got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Lanesville let Madelyn Magner and Brooklyn Albers run wild. Magner went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base, while Albers went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Phoenix Grandmaison also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Lanesville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastern only managed two hits.
Charlestown pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Lanesville, their record now sits at 7-12.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Charlestown has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lanesville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Charlestown's way against Lanesville in their previous meeting back in April, as Charlestown made off with a 12-2 win. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
