The Woodland Regional Hawks can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They skirted past Torrington 46-43. That 46-43 margin sets a new team best for Woodland Regional this season.
Despite the loss, Torrington still got an impressive performance from Leanna Harvey, who scored 18 points. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Sofia Calabrese, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds.
Woodland Regional's win bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Torrington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Woodland Regional will finish 2023 at home by hosting Oxford at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Torrington's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wamogo at 5:30 p.m. on December 27th.
