Grant Martinez and Tony sisneros stepped up to the plate in a big way. Martinez went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double, while SiSneroS went 1-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. SiSneroS has become a key player for Westminster: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-15 otherwise.
As for Pomona, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games.
On Pomona's side, Maddux Najera was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Najera posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other pitching news, Truett Neiman tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits.
Back at the plate, Riley Biesk and Gage Douglas did most of the damage at the plate: Biesk went 3-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI, while Douglas got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave Biesk a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luca Lombardi, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Westminster does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pomona, they will host Dakota Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
