Chadwick hasn't had much luck against Rio Hondo Prep recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Dolphins will look to defend their home field against the Kares at 3:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Chadwick lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Mayfield, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's contest. The Dolphins blew past the Cubs 10-1 on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Dolphins, who have now won four games by nine runs or more so far this season.
Audrey Sakamoto made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. She also snagged a stolen base, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Molly Schwartz was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Mia Cabrera was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one run.
Chadwick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mayfield only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, Rio Hondo Prep came up short against Flintridge Prep on Tuesday, falling 17-11.
Rio Hondo Prep got a big performance out of JANNA TAFLINGER, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of RYEN COVEY, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Chadwick's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Rio Hondo Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Rio Hondo Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chadwick has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .449. It's a different story for Rio Hondo Prep, though, as they've only averaged .344. Will they be able to contain Chadwick's hitters?
Chadwick might still be hurting after the 8-1 loss they got from Rio Hondo Prep when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Dolphins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
