Baseball Recap: Oak Hall Triumphs

Oak Hall posted their closest win since April 8, 2024 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Countryside Christian Minutemen. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Minutemen: they've now won four in a row.

Lincoln Jones made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Brayden Farmer was excellent, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Cameron Currier also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Oak Hall's record now sits at 4-5. As for Countryside Christian, with the defeat, they broke their eight-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Hall will host Hawthorne at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Countryside Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Saint Francis Catholic at 4:00 p.m. Saint Francis Catholic will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Countryside Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
