After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Los Altos, the Capuchino Mustangs were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They pulled ahead with a 47-46 photo finish over Sequoia. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Capuchino also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Isaiah Cruz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 17 points along with six steals and five assists. Dermott Philpott was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Capuchino is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for Sequoia, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Capuchino will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Oceana at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. As for Sequoia, they will challenge Westmoor at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Westmoor has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
