This season hasn't been kind to the Jefferson Democrats, who are still winless after their sixth match. They fell 53-41 to Santee on Wednesday. Jefferson was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Santee apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Santee found their leader in underclassman Darnell Miller, who scored 25 points. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Emiliano Chavez was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Jefferson bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Santee, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.
Jefferson will take on Dr. Maya Angelou Community at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Dr. Maya Angelou Community is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Santee, they will head out on the road to face off against Diego Rivera at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
