Volleyball Recap: Pike Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Pike, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They blew past the Indianapolis Shortridge Blue Devils 3-0 on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Red Devils, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Pike took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-7, 25-10.

Pike had a senior duo take command as Justice King had seven digs and five aces and Simone Suggs had six aces. With that strong performance, King is now averaging an impressive 2.1 aces per game. Sabrina Lincoln also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Pike was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 22 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Pike moved to 7-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Pike wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against North Central on the 18th. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Indianapolis Washington on the 17th.
