Cartersville is 9-1 against the Wildcats since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Cartersville Hurricanes will stay at home for another game and welcome the Woodland Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Tuesday, Cartersville lost to the Catamounts at home by a decisive 66-51 margin.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Reed Ezell, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Kaden Baldwin was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Woodland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight defeat. They took a hard 81-63 fall against Hiram. While losing is never fun, Woodland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 403rd, while the Hornets are ranked 106th).
Cartersville's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Woodland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Cartersville barely slipped by the Wildcats in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 54-53. Will Cartersville repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
