It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Bishop McGuinness Villains had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 50-8 victory over South Stokes. For Bishop McGuinness, this counts as revenge for the 49-14 defeat South Stokes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2022.
Alex Waterfield continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 190 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.2 yards per carry, and also throwing for 223 yards and two touchdowns. Aiden Martin did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 90 receiving yards.
Bishop McGuinness now has a winning record of 6-5. As for South Stokes, they have yet to win a game on the road this season, leaving them with a 2-9 record.
Bishop McGuinness will be playing in front of their home fans against Murphy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Murphy will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. South Stokes does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
