North Hagerstown (Hagerstown, Md.) received a huge boost from its defense against
Williamsport (Md.), as the unit scored 12 in defeating
Williamsport (Md.), 53-27.
The Hubs were up 40-14 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Kyle Hewlett in the first quarter.
North Hagerstown expanded its lead to 27 points entering the fourth quarter. NH scored once in the quarter on a Hewlett touchdown run.
Hewlett and
Preston Carey ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Wildcats. Hewlett scored two touchdowns on the ground and Carey added two as well.
Jesse Zeger played well for Williamsport. The senior wide receiver caught three touchdowns.
The victory will ease some of the sting of the Hagerstown school's close 16-14 loss to WHS last season.
With the win the Hubs extended their winning streak to four games.
In a Monocacy Valley - Antietam game next week Williamsport (0-6) takes on Brunswick, and North Hagerstown (5-1) will go up against Smithsburg also in a Monocacy Valley - Antietam game.
