The Sapulpa Chieftains stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 72-32 victory over McAlester. The win was nothing new for Sapulpa as they're now sitting on six straight.
Sapulpa got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Riki Mcquarters out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. Mcquarters has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Tyla Heard was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Sapulpa is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for McAlester, their loss dropped their record down to 13-9.
Sapulpa will head out on the road to take on Holland Hall at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sapulpa knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Holland Hall likes a good challenge. As for McAlester, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Coweta at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McAlester is on a three-game streak of home wins, Coweta a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
