COMPTON, Calif. - the Jackrabbits scored 34 points in the first quarter to secure a big 54-0 victory over Compton (Calif.) on Saturday.
Long Beach Poly scored on a kick return touchdown by
Jackie Jones, a touchdown run by
James Brooks, a touchdown pass by
Josh Love to
Christian Pabico, a
Jeremy Calhoun touchdown run and a
Tai Tiedemann touchdown pass to
Daejohn Logan in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a kick return touchdown by Jones in the first quarter, LBP led 47-0 at the half.
The Jackrabbits raced to 34 in the first quarter alone and never looked back.
Long Beach Poly's standout player in the win was Pabico. The senior wide receiver caught two touchdowns.
Long Beach Poly came into the game allowing 16.2 points per game.
LBP also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 61-0.
With the win the Long Beach school extended its winning streak to four games.
In a Moore game next week Compton (0-6) takes on Lakewood, and Long Beach Poly (5-1) will go up against Jordan also in a Moore game.
