Cannelton has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Vincennes Rivet Patriots at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Cannelton took a serious blow against Medora, falling 64-30.
Trevor Hale put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 11 points. He scored a full 36.7% of Cannelton's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Vincennes Rivet lost to North Knox on the road by a decisive 61-42 margin on Wednesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Vincennes Rivet in their matchups with North Knox: they've now lost five in a row.
Cannelton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Vincennes Rivet, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-5.
Cannelton came up short against Vincennes Rivet in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 65-56. Can Cannelton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
