Montezuma-Cortez had won four straight games and Caidin Leonard did his part to make it five on Thursday. The Montezuma-Cortez Panthers strolled past the Delta Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 61-47 thanks in part to Leonard, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 21 points. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Trace Hartsoe, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in December of 2023.

Montezuma-Cortez's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Delta, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Montezuma-Cortez didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 76-45 victory against Moffat County on the 20th. As for Delta, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-58 defeat against Grand Junction Central on the 21st.
