Barnwell is on a three-game streak of home losses, Edisto a seven-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Barnwell Warhorses will take on the Edisto Cougars at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Barnwell suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 71-47 walloping at the hands of Hampton County. Barnwell has struggled against Hampton County recently, as their game on Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Barnwell's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Vashahd Scofield, who scored 11 points, and Mican Bradley who scored nine points. Bradley continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jamarcus Coleman was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Meanwhile, Edisto had to suffer through a rough 63-31 loss at the hands of Woodland. While losing is never fun, Edisto can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Woodland is ranked 53rd).
Barnwell has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Edisto, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.
Barnwell was able to grind out a solid victory over Edisto in their previous matchup on January 10th, winning 37-24. Will Barnwell repeat their success, or does Edisto have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
